The Lowest Bid Wins

Yes, this is really something. The lower bid wins the prize. In this time and age nothing's for free, am I right? Not for Bid4Prizes. This is a new take on auction online. There's no purchase necessary. A really interesting one. All you have to do is register. You can even do it on your cellphone when you bid.

They are giving away good prizes everyday. Prizes range from, Apple I-Phone’s, HDTV’s, Designer Bags, SCION XB’s to Cash Prize. You can bid as many items as you want. How I'd wish I will get that Plasma TV! I tell you, it's not like other auction websites wherein usually the higher bidder gets the prize. They are almost giving you what you want. The lowest unique bid gets the prize so there's nothing you could lose really. They also have Sweepstake for the lucky ones.

They have a recently featured prize and guess what, it's a car! Can you believe it? Be a member now and I wish you goodluck. I have to start my bid on that Plasma TV I've been drooling over before it's late. Where else will you get that great deal, huh? Free gifts online is just cool. I bet I'll get hook on it.

Wine glass with a diamond

Once again let me say that money can't buy happiness, but it sure can buy this wine glass with a diamond. If you live a life of luxury you sure can afford this glass wine and use in every party you may have, better yet every time you pour a glass of the finest wines and spirits you have on your cellar. I'll bet Jennifer Lopez thinks this one might be too small for her knowing she has rocks that are enormous as can be. Well, this is an ultimate luxury for those who way want to collect a dozen or two for a single party. One thing's for sure --- you can't serve a hundred guests with this unless of course if you want them all to take one each home for a souvenir.
And here is the rest of it.

Treasures from a pile of junk

Last year, hubby decided to clean out his storage because we were moving to another state. I thought for sure they are just going to be a big pile of junk from his old house because he had told me there were at least 2 dumps of house stuff he had to get rid of before he had the house sold to his nephew. Some of which were his mom's China ware and other kitchen and house stuff that I thought would have been a keeper. If only I were already present in his life a couple of years back, I would have found some valuable things that he might have thrown out already. He even said a few people stopped by and had asked to keep some that were still useful and who knows made money out of in case they were old enough to be antiques. Anyway, every time hubby gets home from the storage and brings few boxes to check before they are finally thrown out, I get anxious to see few pieces of history from his family. They were tons of old pictures and what not. What I really get excited about is when he brings a jewelry box. Not just one but several of them. Most of them actually contained costume jewelries of his mom who was fond of brooches. I found a lot of them which are still very nice. I thought of keeping them just because I like the fact that they were my hubby's mom's treasure. I never met her as she passed away years before I met hubby.

Well, to make a long story short -- hubby brings few more storage boxes with jewelry boxes in them and I scour them like I am a scavenger hoping to find some good stuff. I found some gold necklaces and rings either worn out or just too old and had been unattended for a long time. I discarded some of them especially the costume kind which I never get attracted to and of course setting aside the good ones in a special place. Hubby tells me he is particularly looking for a diamond ring which his mom owns, but he isn't sure whether she really had one. He barely remembers but he thinks it was a nice big stone. I am eager to find it. To top it all, we couldn't find it and there we found an old and torn jewery box which looks garbage and turned out to be a surprise. Unexpectedly, it contains a wedding ring set of a good antique cut 1 carat diamond solitaire engagement ring and a wedding band with little emerald and round cut diamonds in platinum setting. Unfortunately, those were not hubby's mom's rings --- they were his aunt's. We found his mom's younger sister's wedding set. She passed away a long time ago so did her husband. I like them a lot and had worn them a few times mostly during my pregnancy when my fingers were bigger and swollen and had to keep my own set aside for a while. They are at least 1 size bigger for me now, so I just keep them in the box. By the way, they're not the only treasure we found out of something we thought were piles of junk.
